One of the reasons I am so passionate about the work that I do is because I’ve been there. I’ve experienced the pressure of internal dialogue to be “perfect” and the discomfort of feeling “not good enough” … again! The struggle of balancing it all and the endless to do lists which lead to overwhelm, stress and burnout. These are normal human experiences, but we are not taught the information and life skills we need to manage these challenges. I believe we should be, that we deserve to be.
My professional portfolio includes working for the UK National Health Service, Goldman Sachs and the globally acclaimed King’s College London. Additionally, I founded two successful private psychology practices, in London and Hong Kong. I now work virtually with imperfect humans worldwide, through my company The Mind Atelier® Limited. My clinical experiences have been diverse; I’ve worked with parents, expats, senior executives, offenders, and veterans, to name but a few. As a clinical psychologist, I’m trained to work with a wide range of mental health difficulties and disorders, but my sweet spot is supporting professional women overcome parental, work or traumatic stress.
When I’m not in my virtual clinic, you’ll find me working out, eating out, doing something crafty or running around after my two energetic young sons. I can’t wait to get to know you too!
My Approach
My doctorate training emphasised an evidence based, collaborative approach. This is something I value and embrace in my work. I use scientifically proven therapeutic approaches, typically CBT, ACT and EMDR to help you reach your goals.
I’m a big believer that the value of therapy and coaching comes, not just from the insights you discover in session, but from integrating what you learn into everyday life. You’ll leave therapy with a “toolbox” of strategies to help you stay on track, move forward with your life and successfully navigate any bumps further along your journey.
Is my Approach Right for You?
Not all humans fit well together, and that’s ok. The important thing is to find a therapist or coach who fits your needs at this point in your life. Would we be a good fit? I hope so! Let me help you decide …
Probably, if you:
want a structured, solution focused approach
value the benefits & accessibility of online support
want to invest in an experienced, accredited, doctoral level therapist & coach
are motivated to change, learn & try out evidence based strategies
are up for doing a bit of work between sessions
Possibly not, if you:
prefer a less structured, more exploratory approach
want to access in person support
prefer a lower cost, less qualified therapist or coach
want to explore relationship issues in alot of depth
aren’t keen to work on your wellbeing outside of sessions
